The Project Coordinator supports the Centre for Digital Humanities’ (CDH) outreach and partnership mandates.  Working in collaboration with internal and external partners, this position coordinates multiple CDH teaching and scholarship events and projects from inception to closure.”

As the Project Coordinator, you will:

  • Plan and execute CDH events, including presentations, workshops and conferences, from inception to closure;

  • Generate ideas and leads for new events, including sponsored/funded events and partnerships for events with other organizations;

  • Liaise with event presenters;

  • Schedule events, book event facilities and equipment;

  • Advertise events by sending targeted emails and postings;

  • Process event revenue and expenses per Brock policies;

  • Lead occasional workshops, drawing on one’s expertise;

  • Provide oversight of the IASC/GAME student internships attached to IASC 3P95;

  • Foster and maintain potential internship placement opportunities;

  • Provide student interns/hosts with advice/direction, troubleshooting issues;

  • Provide collated internship information to the University upon request;

  • Maintain the IASC 3P95 course outline and internship forms, recommending, to the CDH Director, updates to both, as well as internship policies/processes more generally;

  • Consult with stakeholders (e.g., host, student, CDH curriculum committee) to ensure internship prospective positions fulfill the mandate and learning objectives of the CDH internship course;

  • In consultation with the CDH Director and other personnel, plan and execute CDH projects (including CDH sponsored scholarship projects) from inception to closure;

  • Facilitate collaborative projects with internal and external partners;

  • Write and co-write partnership, research and grant proposals and related documents;

  • Draft and execute detailed project work plans, following project management best practices;

  • Develop and track project budgets, revenue and expenses per Brock policies;

  • In consultation with project sponsors, recruit project team members;

  • Collect, collate and draft project reports and updates;

  • Prepare text, infographics and videos for a variety of purposes (e.g., recruitment);

  • Updates Brock News, Brock Press, and FoH Social Media Coordinator for the CDH's social media presence focused on CDH news;

  • Conduct outreach and Web scans, leading to the collating and distribution of information related to potential CDH partnership, event, and funding opportunities;

  • Arrange photography and videography of CDH faculty and student work, including securing appropriate permissions and archiving materials;


What you Need to Succeed…

  • A Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a related field;

  • 1-2 years of experience in event and/or project coordination;

  • Skilled in planning and implementing events, including expertise in attracting sponsorships, coordinating logistics and developing promotional plans;

  • Knowledge of project management principles, project management software, software version control and quality assurance;

  • Fluent in collaborative team management software and corresponding best practices;

  • Demonstrated interest in and understanding of interactive digital media, including knowledge of recent trends and anticipated future directions;

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel;

  • Knowledge of budgeting processes, basic accounting, and budget management;

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including professional and technical writing experience (e.g., reports, project plans and research/funding proposals);

  • Demonstrated presentation skills required to provide effective 1:1 support, small group assistance and/or workshop delivery;

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and demands simultaneously;

  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships and partnerships;

  • Ability to provide constructive feedback to students, faculty and staff in a professional manner;

  • Adept in responding to and managing occasional differences of opinion;

  • Strong planning, attention to detail, and organizational skills to coordinate multiple, concurrent tasks associated with projects;

  • Flexibility to manage changing priorities, ensuring that tasks are done efficiently and effectively;

  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills to provide effective and efficient technical assistance;


Preferred or Asset Skills:

  • Project management experience in interactive digital media and/or games.


Salary Information

  • Job Grade: K $51,214 - $68,951 per annum;

  • This is an ongoing regular position which includes full comprehensive benefits coverage and tuition waiver.

* The salary range indicated is representative of all positions evaluated at this level. Actual salary is determined by assessing related skills, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness, subject to available budget.
